2008 Camper Registration Form

During our annual summer camp we offer the finest camp program. A one-on-one companion is assigned to each child to care for his/her needs and to ensure he/she has the best time at camp. The 2008 Summer Camp has been scheduled for July 27th - Aug. 1st. The camp will be held at Lake Doniphan, Excelsior Springs, Missouri. CAMP QUALITY is open to children between ages 3 - 18 who can be away from home for a week. Camp Quality attempts to keep the oncology medical teams at the major hospitals informed about our program. Most of our children are referred to us through hospital staff. Our primary concern during camp is to provide on-site oncology specialist to care for medical needs. CAMP COMPANIONS

2008 Companion Application Form

A one-on-one companion is assigned for every child who registers with our program. Companions are a minimum of 18 years of age. Their dedication and commitment is the backbone of our program.

The work of companion is one of year-round support, and companions are expected to maintain contact with their camper after camp. No special skill or medical training is needed. We seek caring adults who want to build a friendship with a special child.

STAFF MEMBER

A wide variety of staff are required for every camp. Volunteers are needed in areas such as crafts, food service, special program, and medical. If you are interested in volunteering as a staff member contact campqualitygkc@yahoo.com.

Fundraising

Camp Quality is totally community funded. If you would like to make a donation, or if you have ideas regarding fundraising, we would like to hear from you. Contact Jacinda Farmer, 816-540-5846, campqualitygkc@yahoo.com.

Necessary forms must be issued to give permission to use the Camp Quality name for fundraising purposes.

  • Volunteers 18 years or older to be a Companion for the week of camp
  • Children ages 3-18 diagnosed with cancer
  • Bus services to transport the children (approx. 65) from Kansas City to camp and from camp back to Kansas City 
  • Bus services for approx. 120 to and from our outing during the weeklong camp
  • Donations of arts and crafts materials; necklace and bracelet making materials; etc.
  • Grant Writer
  • Advertisements in newspapers about the camps and events we hold year round
  • Articles written about Camp Quality GKC in magazines and other print materials
  • Radio or TV time promoting Camp Quality GKC
  • Help with conducting a radiothon as a fundraiser for Camp Quality GKC
  • Providing an entertainment program at Camp Quality GKC
  • Volunteer to bring a program/group to camp (i.e. antique cars, petting zoo, animal demonstrations, gymnastics)
  • Medical supplies for children at the week-long summer camp
  • Variety of snack items for the week-long summer camp including vegetables and fruit options (Ex. gift cards for Price Chopper or Wal-Mart both stores are located in Excelsior Springs and we can shop for fresh fruit and vegetables while at camp.)

  • Printing of the camp memory log book (quantity 450 forty-page color print, $2800.00)
  • Printing of the summer camp t-shirts (quantity 200 approximately $1500.00)

  • Sponsor the Spring Gathering in April
