What Is Camp Quality?

Camp Quality is a camping experience and year-round support for children with cancer and their families. Our goal is to allow children to be children again, by making available exciting activities and new friends, while giving parents a much deserved rest.

Slogan:

Letting Kids With Cancer Be Kids Again

How Do We Refer To Camp Quality?

It is a camp for children with life-threatening cancer. We NEVER use the words "victim", "fatal" or "terminal," all of which remove hope. In all our discussions of Camp Quality with the members of the community and media, we need to correct any references to these words. Remember that children read and hear media reports, too.

Once A Camper Attends Camp, May He/She Return?

Yes! The whole purpose of Camp Quality is to give children hope for the future! Even when a child is in remission, he/she is still encouraged to attend camp. It gives hope to those in treatment to see another child who has progressed so well.

May Siblings Attend Camp Too?

Yes, the first two years, there will be spaces available but beyond that it needs to be clearly understood and reinforced that this is on a SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS. The stress on siblings is great, and we realize this, but sadly the numbers of children with cancer is also large. We do hope that while the child with cancer is at camp, the parents can spend time with the siblings.
